Moves
========
Leaf Storm allows Serperior to threaten common Stealth Rock setters offensively and to become a threat in its own right with repeated Special Attack boosts. Taunt has various uses on this set, most notably preventing entry hazards from being set by the likes of Chansey, Ferrothorn, Garchomp, and Landorus-T. Serperior can also use Taunt to prevent opposing hazard removal from Pokemon like Mega Latias. Taunt and Rocky Helmet allow Serperior to comfortably beat Chansey one-on-one by preventing both healing and status moves and discouraging attacking, respectively. Glare allows Serperior to punishes switch-ins like Magearna, Heatran and Tornadus-T, as well as stopping Pokemon like Volcarona and Mega Charizard X from freely setting up on it. Defog allows Serperior to clear entry hazards, which it is able to do in the face of common entry hazard setters such as Excadrill, Landorus-T, and Mega Diancie.
Set Details
========
208 HP EVs in conjunction with 48 Defense EVs allow Serperior to survive rain-boosted Waterfall followed by Ice Punch from Jolly Mega Swampert. The rest is put into Speed in order to Speed tie with opposing Serperior.
Team Options
========
This variant of Serperior is exclusively used on hyper offensive teams, as they appreciate Serperior's useful utility movepool alongside its lack of passivity. Hyper offense threats that are weak to Stealth Rock, such as Mega Charizard X and Volcarona, highly appreciate the extra security that Serperior's Defog brings. Another way Serperior can help the aforementioned Pokemon is its ability to threaten Water-types, such as Tapu Fini and Rotom-W, and Ground-types such as Garchomp. Serperior appreciates a dedicated lead such as Mega Diancie, Taunt Mew, or Excadrill starting the game off with entry hazards clear, as using Defog loses valuable momentum. Additionally, Serperior is a good facilitator for hazard setters such as Greninja, as it can prevent opposing Defog by using Taunt. Pairing Serperior with a Steel-type teammate such as Magearna is useful, as it can check Tornadus-T, which outspeeds and threatens to OHKO Serperior. Special attackers that struggle with Chansey, such as Volcarona and Shift Gear Magearna, appreciate Serperior's ability to chip away at Chansey and prevent its healing.
