AG Offensive Pivot (Miraidon) [QC 1/2]

[OVERVIEW]
Miraidon is a staple on balance and bulky offense and every team needs to have effective counterplay for Miraidon. Thanks to Hadron Engine boosting Miraidon’s Special Attack to outstanding levels, and strong STAB moves in Electro Drift and Draco Meteor, Miraidon cements itself as one of the most potent wallbreakers in the metagame. U-turn makes Miraidon to be an amazing pivot, allowing it to safely pivot in teammates such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S. However, due to the prevalence of Ground-types in Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground that can force Miraidon out on a one on one situation, Miraidon has a tough time safely coming in and wallbreaking. Koraidon with Choice Scarf can revenge kill Miraidon, and Calyrex-S can revenge kill Miraidon without the need of Choice Scarf. Keeping this in mind, Miraidon really appreciates teammates such as Ho-Oh and Ting-Lu that are able to check defensive walls Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground and offensive wallbreakers such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S.

[SET]
Offensive Pivot (Miraidon) @ Heavy-Duty-Boots
Ability: Hadron Engine
Tera Type: Fairy / Dragon / Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Electro Drift
- U-Turn
- Taunt / Calm Mind / Solar Beam

[SET COMMENTS]
Miraidon’s raw natural power backed by Hadron Engine, and access to U-turn, makes it one of the best pivots for balance and bulky offense teams. Heavy-Duty-Boots greatly increases Miraidon’s longevity by making it immune to entry hazards while also improving its matchup against Sticky Webs. Heavy-Duty-Boots also allows Miraidon to safely come in multiple times without any consequences from entry hazards. Taunt helps prevent Ting-Lu from using Spikes, and preventing Arceus formes and Clodsire from using Recover. Taunt also prevents foes such as Arceus and Necrozma-DM from setting up. Calm Mind allows Miraidon to brute force through its checks, allowing it to 2HKO Ting-Lu, and OHKO Arceus-Ground at +1 after entry hazard damage. Calm Mind also allows Miraidon to OHKO Necrozma-Dusk-Mane after a single boost. Solar beam is an alternative option that allows Miraidon to 2HKO Ting-Lu and OHKO Arceus-Ground after some minor chip damage, although it requires sun to be up for Miraidon to be able to click it with ease. Tera Fairy gives Miraidon an immunity to Dragon-type moves from Koraidon, Eternatus, and opposing Miraidon albeit at the cost of becoming weak to Necrozma-DM's Sunsteel Strike, and no longer having a neutrality to Ho-Oh's STAB moves. Tera Ghost grants Miraidon an immunity to Koraidon's Low Kick and Arceus's Extreme Speed, although it makes Miraidon weak to Calyrex-S's Astral Barrage.

Miraidon is primarily be used on balance and bulky offense teams that benefit from its wallbreaking and pivoting capabilities. Miraidon struggles with Revenge Killers such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S, so Miraidon prefers checks to them such as Ho-Oh and defensive Arceus formes for Koraidon and Ting-Lu for Calyrex-S. Miraidon appreciates being paired Scarf Koraidon as they can pivot each other in while both compliment each other really well with Koraidon is able to pressurize Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground while Miraidon helps with Ho-Oh and Arceus-Water. Miraidon also appreciates special attackers such as Calyrex-S and Arceus-Ground, that can pressurize Ting-Lu, and eventually breaking through it. Lastly, Miraidon greatly benefits from Ting-Lu as an entry hazard setter allowing Miraidon to effectively break through, while also being a fabulous check to Calyrex-S and Arceus-Ground, which Miraidon struggles with.

Miraidon can opt to use a more niche option in Overheat, which allows Miraidon to OHKO Steel-types such as Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C under sun, which is provided by the very omnipresent Koraidon. One downside of running Overheat is that it is heavily prediction reliant, and makes Miraidon drop more effective options in Taunt or Calm Mind.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ting-Lu:** Ting-Lu can effectively switch into Miraidon’s Draco Meteor while being able to pivot safely into Electro Drift, making it difficult to break through. Ting-Lu, however, lacks recovery, which means it cannot switch into Miraidon repeatedly.

**Arceus-Ground:** After +1, Arceus-Ground can outspeed Miraidon and threaten it out with Earthquake. Also, Arceus-Ground is able to pivot in on Miraidon's Electro Drift, and it can force Miraidon to switch out on a one-on one situation.

**Revenge Killers:** Revenge Killers such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S can outspeed Miraidon and potentially kill it with their STABs in Outrage, Low Kick, and Astral Barrage. Thanks to Arceus's STAB priority in Extreme Speed, it can outspeed and revenge kill Miraidon once its on low HP.

Miraidon’s raw natural power backed by Hadron Engine, and access to U-turn, make makes it one of the best pivots for Balance and Bulky Offense teams. Heavy-Duty-Boots greatly increase increases (Heavy-Duty-Boots is singular over here, not plural) Miraidon’s longevity and by make making it immune to entry hazards while also improving its matchup against Sticky Webs. Draco Meteor is Miraidon’s most spammable STAB move (I don't think that Draco Meteor is spammable), allowing it to OHKO Koraidon, Miraidon, and Eternatus. Furthermore, it allows Miraidon to weaken Ting-Lu and 2HKO Arceus-Ground. While Electro Drift is certainly not as spammable as Draco Meteor, its still a great coverage (Electro Drift is STAB, not coverage) move that allows Miraidon to muscle through ("muscle through" makes it sound as if you need effort to break through these) defensive walls like Ho-Oh,(rc) Kyogre (not a defensive wall), and Arceus-Water, and Steel-types that resist Draco Meteor such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM. With the help of U-turn, Miraidon can safely pivot in Pokemon like U-Turn allows miraidon to safely pivot in partners such as Koraidon, Calyrex-S, and Necrozma-DM on their its (Miraidon's checks) respective checks. Taunt helps prevent Arceus formes and Clodsire (I think that Clodsire is a notable mention) from using Recover while limiting while also preventing entry hazards from foes such as Ting-Lu and Eternatus. On top of all of that, it Taunt also prevents foes such as Arceus and Necrozma-DM from setting up. Calm Mind on the other hand, allows Miraidon to brute force through its checks, allowing it to 2HKO Ting-Lu, and OHKO Arceus-Ground at +1 with a Modest Nature with Draco Meteor (feel like this is necessary to add). Calm Mind also allows +1 Electro Drift to OHKO Miraidon to OHKO Necrozma-Dusk-Mane after a single boost. Solar beam is an alternative option that allows Miraidon to hit Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground without the momentum draining drawbacks of Draco Meteor. Solar Beam often (unless you have Power Herb, you need sun to be up) requires Sun to be up for it Miraidon to be able to click it with ease. Tera Fairy gives Miraidon a massive (no need to emphasize) immunity to Outrage, Draco Meteor, Dynamax Cannon from Koraidon, opposing Miraidon, and Eternatus,(rc) respectively. On the other side, this This however leaves Miraidon more vulnerable to Sunsteel Strike from Necrozma-DM and it no longer has a resistance to Ho-Oh’s STABs in Brave Bird and Sacred Fire. Tera Ghost on the other hand, makes Miraidon immune to Koraidon’s Low Kick and Arceus’ Arceus's Extreme Speed, while removing its weakness to Ground-type attacks from Pokemon such as Necrozma-DM, Ting-Lu, and Arceus-Ground. while making it neutral to most attacks.

Miraidon should primarily be used on Balance and Bulky Offense teams where both offensive Pokemon and walls benefit from its wallbreaking and pivoting capabilities. Miraidon is one of the fastest wallbreakers in the metagame, but it still struggles with Revenge Killers such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S. Hence, Miraidon appreciates prefers checks to them such as Ho-Oh and defensive Arceus formes which is able to keep for Koraidon in check and Ting-Lu that checks for Calyrex-S. Miraidon also appreciates Scarf Koraidon as both share U-turn and are able to pivot each other in against each others’ their respective checks such as Ting-Lu and Ho-Oh. Miraidon also appreciates special attackers such as Calyrex-S, Kyogre, (no one's staying in against Kyogre) and Arceus-Ground, that can share the responsibility of doing chip to pressuring Ting-Lu, and making it easier to break through Ting-Lu eventually breaking through it. Lastly, Miraidon benefits from appreciates Eternatus’ Eternatus's (wrong apostrophe) Toxic Spikes,(rc) acting as a phaser for Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground, and phazing, racking up damage from hazards, allowing Miraidon to break through its checks. with relative ease.

However its role as a wallbreaker and pivot remains as is, Miraidon can use a more niche option in Overheat to muscle through Steel-types such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM. Although Miraidon still beats the aforementioned Steel-types with Electro Drift, Overheat guarantees an OHKO on Zacian, and an OHKO on Necrozma-DM under sun, which is provided by the very omnipresent Koraidon.

**Zacian-C** **Zacian-C:** Zacian-C is able to switch into Miraidon's Draco Meteor, which could possibly kill or threaten Miraidon out of the field. It can also safely come in on an U-turn. (I don't really like this example as Zacian fears Electro Drift and it would also prefer to keep its ability intact)

Miraidon is a staple for most on balance and bulky offense teams and every team needs to have effective counterplay for Miraidon. Thanks to Hadron Engine boosting Miraidon’s Special Attack to outstanding levels, and strong dual STABs STAB moves "STAB" refers to the boost the moves receive, not the moves themselves in Electro Drift and Draco Meteor, Miraidon cements itself as one of the most potent wallbreakers in the metagame. However, due to the prevalence of Choice Scarf users such as Calyrex-S, Koraidon and defensive walls in Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground, mention Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground before revenge killers, also Caly doesn't need to be scarf to revenge Miraidon’s ability to stay in the field for a long time is limited. change this to something about needing teammates to make up for its shortcomings.

Miraidon’s raw natural power backed by Hadron Engine, and access to U-turn, makes it one of the best pivots for Balance and Bulky Offense teams. Heavy-Duty-Boots greatly increases Miraidon’s longevit longevity by making it immune to entry hazards while also improving its matchup against Sticky Webs. I don't like how this is worded personally, I think something about being able to come in multiple times without consequence would be better Draco Meteor is Miraidon’s most spammable STAB move, allowing it to OHKO Koraidon, Miraidon, and Eternatus. Furthermore, it allows Miraidon to weaken Ting-Lu and 2HKO Arceus-Ground. Electro Drift is a great STAB move that allows Miraidon to break through defensive walls like Ho-Oh and Arceus-Water, and Steel-types that resist Draco Meteor such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM. U-Turn allows miraidon to safely pivot in partners such as Koraidon, Calyrex-S, and Necrozma-DM on its checks. All of this is obvious, you don't need to tell someone what your basic STAB moves and U-turn do Taunt helps prevent Arceus formes and Clodsire from using Recover while also preventing entry hazards from foes such as Ting-Lu and Eternatus. Preventing Ting-Lu from using Spikes is the most important thing, mention that first. Etern shouldn't be mentioned because you threaten an OHKO with Draco, and you can just say something about denying recovery because clodsire and co aren't worth singling out Taunt also prevents foes such as Arceus and Necrozma-DM from setting up. Calm Mind allows Miraidon to brute force through its checks, allowing it to 2HKO Ting-Lu, and OHKO Arceus-Ground at +1 with a Modest Nature with Draco Meteor after entry hazard damage. Calm Mind also allows Miraidon to OHKO Necrozma-Dusk-Mane after a single boost. Solar beam Beam is an alternative option that allows Miraidon to hit 2HKO Ting-Lu and OHKO Arceus-Ground without the drawbacks of Draco Meteor after minor chip damage. Solar Beam requires Sun to be up for Miraidon to be able to click it with ease. They know that Solar Beam requires sun, remove this sentence and add a caveat about sun in the first sentence Tera Fairy gives Miraidon an immunity to Outrage, Draco Meteor, Dynamax Cannon from Koraidon, opposing Miraidon, and Eternatus respectively Dragon-type moves from Koraidon, Eternatus, and opposing Miraidon. This however leaves Miraidon vulnerable to Sunsteel Strike from Necrozma-DM and it no longer has a resistance to Ho-Oh’s STABs in Brave Bird and Sacred Fire. you can combine this bit about becoming weak to sunsteel with the prior sentence, ie: "albeit at the cost of..." Tera Ghost makes Miraidon immune grants an immunity to Koraidon’s Low Kick and Arceus's Extreme Speed, while making it neutral to most attacks. being neutral to most attacks isn't really relevant, mention astral barrage weakness instead.

Miraidon should is primarily be used on balance and bulky offense teams where both offensive Pokemon and walls that benefit from its wallbreaking and pivoting capabilities. Miraidon struggles with Revenge Killers such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S. (remove period) Hence, Miraidon prefers so checks to them such as Ho-Oh and defensive Arceus formes for Koraidon and Ting-Lu for Calyrex-S. Ho-Oh checks Caly too, so you need to convey that Miraidon appreciates being paired with Choice Scarf Koraidon as both share U-turn and are able to they can pivot each other in against their respective checks such as Ting-Lu and Ho-Oh. give more info about what Koraidon can do for Miraidon, and vice versa Miraidon also appreciates special attackers such as Calyrex-S and Arceus-Ground, that can share the responsibility of pressuring Ting-Lu, I don't think "share the responsibility of" accurately describes this dynamic and eventually breaking through it. Lastly, Miraidon benefits from Eternatus's Toxic Spikes and phazing, racking up damage from hazards, allowing Miraidon to break through its checks. if you want to mention a hazard setter that mira benefits from, Ting-Lu is right there. Etern stacks multiple weaknesses with Mira and covers a lot of the same things (waterceus, ho-oh, etc.) so I don't think it's really worth a mention

**Ting-lu Ting-Lu:** Ting-Lu can effectively switch into Miraidon’s Draco Meteor, making it difficult to break through. Ting-Lu, however, lacks recovery, which means it cannot switch into Miraidon repeatedly. You need to elaborate more, especially about how Ting-Lu threatens Mira out with EQ and can block Electro Drift.

**Arceus-Ground:** Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground that can outspeed outspeeds Miraidon after +1 it's either "at +1" or "after using Dragon Dance" and threaten Miraidon out. Calm Mind Arceus-Ground that can raise its Special Defense, forcing Miraidon out. CM isn't worth mentioning. Either way you need to draw more attention to the fact that Groundy can pivot into edrift and threaten mira out, not what it can in a 1v1.

**Revenge Killers:** Revenge Killers such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S can outspeed Miraidon and potentially kill it with their STABs in Outrage, Low Kick, and Astral Barrage. Thanks to Arceus's STAB priority in Extreme Speed, it can outspeed and revenge kill Miraidon once its on low HP. specify that Koraidon needs to be Choice Scarf, add Zacian-C, and combine the Arceus sentence with the prior one.

**Entry Hazard setters:** Miraidon is often prediction reliant and Choice Specs and Life Orb sets are vulnerable to chip damage and can very easily be worn down with Spikes and Toxic Spikes. the main set is boots by a long shot, this definitely doesn't warrant an entry here

In the first paragraph when talking about teras even though it's pretty straightforward I'd still quickly mention tera dragon's upsides, since it provides nothing defensively really. It's particularly good into teams without a fairy since they rely on pivoting around dracos and trying to win first, but tera dragon restricts the amount of times things like ting clod or defensive groundceus can come in which is very helpful.

Miraidon appreciates being paired Scarf Koraidon as they can pivot each other in while both compliment each other really well with Koraidon is able to pressurize Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground while Miraidon helps with Ho-Oh and Arceus-Water.
Mention how this pairing is also required for the solar beam set to be usable.

Add Zacian-C to checks and counters, lives a drift and either is play rough to OHKO or just blocks draco and can get a free SD + CC off / pressure a switch which is kinda difficult for Miraidon to deal with since combos of fairy + ground mons make it super prediction reliant.

Would also 100% add a mention of tera grass somewhere, idk if we want it in the main set since that's a lot of slashes but at least in OO. Solar Beam doesn't 2hko leftovers ting lu and almost never 2hko's boots without tera, and it also doesn't ohko even max offensive groundceus. Tera grass gives that power boost and also makes it a backup check to DD groundceus since you can live an eq and ohko back if sun is up or just hit it hard enough with draco since it's likely taken a hit while setting up if you managed to get mirai in safely.
