RU Alolan Ninetales

Alolan Ninetales Modell.gif

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Ninetales's outstanding ability to set Aurora Veil and create setup opportunities for its teammates with Encore and Hypnosis makes it a great offensive support for hyper offense teams. Snow Warning gives Alolan Ninetales a perfectly accurate Blizzard, which is a strong offensive move in RU. This, in combination with its solid coverage, lets Alolan Ninetales act as a strong wallbreaker or Nasty Plot sweeper outside of hyper offense. Furthermore, it outspeeds common threats such as Celebi and Cobalion, allowing it to either set Aurora Veil safely or keep these Pokemon in check. Alolan Ninetales's hail support enables the use of Arctozolt, a fearsome wallbreaker in RU, on many teams. However, Alolan Ninetales is rather frail and weak to Stealth Rock, making it easily revenge killed by faster threats and strong priority users such as Barraskewda, Choice Scarf Flygon, and Entei. Offensive sets also struggle to break through common special walls and some Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka due to its mediocre Special Attack stat and lack of coverage. Lastly, while hail enables Alolan Ninetales to set Aurora Veil immediately, gives it an accurate Blizzard, and helps chip down opposing Pokemon, it also chips down teammates.

[SET COMMENTS]

Blizzard makes Alolan Ninetales less passive and enables it to defeat Defoggers such as Noivern, Crobat, and Flygon. Encore prevents bulky setup sweepers such as Necrozma, Reuniclus, and Snorlax from setting up on Alolan Ninetales for free while also crippling defensive threats such as Umbreon and Registeel. Encore additionally can ease the setup of Alolan Ninetales's teammates. Foul Play hits Steel-types and setup sweepers such as Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Polteageist. Hypnosis can further cripple opposing Steel-types and give Alolan Ninetales's teammates more setup opportunities. However, Hypnosis is not a reliable move due to its low accuracy. Moonblast is an option to better deal with Fighting-types, especially Cobalion, which can be troublesome for hyper offense. Since this set is often paired with Arctozolt, Icy Rock is preferred to give more hail turns. Furthermore, longer hail gives Alolan Ninetales more opportunities to set Aurora Veil. However, Heavy-Duty Boots can be used to provide Alolan Ninetales with more switch-in opportunities.

This set fits best on hyper offense and hail teams. Arctozolt is a great choice as a teammate because it is a powerful wallbreaker under hail. On hyper offense teams, setup sweepers such as Mimikyu, Necrozma, and Linoone can weaken troublesome bulky Steel-types such as Cobalion, Metagross, and Registeel for Arctozolt. They also enjoy Aurora Veil from Alolan Ninetales allowing for more setup opportunities and disallowing the foe from revenge killing them. Other setup sweepers such as Dragon Dance Flygon, Cobalion, and Lucario take advantage of the aforementioned Steel-types that Alolan Ninetales usually lures in. Noivern and Crobat are annoying threats for hyper offense teams, since they ignore Aurora Veil due to Infiltrator and can remove it with Defog. As a result, setup sweepers that check them such as Slurpuff and Toxtricity are important. Misty Surge Galarian Weezing with Memento, Sticky Web Ribombee, and Stealth Rock Cobalion can be used to further support the above sweepers. On semi-hail teams and other non-hyper offense teams that include the combination of Alolan Ninetales and Arctozolt, it is important to note that the other four teammates must provide role compression. For example, Noivern and Starmie provide Defog support, momentum, and some defensive utility while checking Fighting- and Fire-types like Cobalion, Heracross, and Darmanitan. Klefki can be used for Spikes support. Pivot variants of Flygon, Incineroar, and Cobalion offer further role compression and deal with troublesome Steel-types. Arctozolt should not be a team's sole source of speed control due to weather's inconsistency, so a Choice Scarf user such as Gardevoir, Heracross, or Flygon is recommended.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moonblast's main use is to break through and revenge kill common Pokemon such as Umbreon and Cobalion more easily. Dark Pulse hits Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Chandelure super effectively, all of which resist Alolan Ninetales's STAB moves. Freeze-Dry enables Alolan Ninetales to better break through bulky Water-types such as Volcanion, Milotic, and Suicune.

Alolan Ninetales appreciates VoltTurn support that can bring it safely onto the battlefield. Raikou and Xurkitree often pivot on bulky Grass-types such as Dhelmise and Roserade, while Darmanitan, Barraskewda, and Flygon usually bait bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon. Arctozolt forms a strong offensive wallbreaking core with Alolan Ninetales and appreciates its hail support, but it is important to note that this core limits the teambuilding process due to their poor role compression. Reliable entry hazard control such as Noivern, Starmie, or Xatu is necessary, since Alolan Ninetales is weak to Stealth Rock. Spikes setters like Golisopod, Roserade, and Klefki help Alolan Ninetales wear down special walls and bulky Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka. Strong physical attackers such as Heracross, Golurk, and Flygon also deal with these threats. Seismitoad, defensive Flygon, and Suicune check offensive Fire- and Steel-types like Salazzle, Incineroar, and Metagross, which take advantage of Alolan Ninetales once it is locked into one of its STAB moves. Late-game cleaners such as Choice Scarf Heracross and Dragon Dance Flygon appreciate Alolan Ninetales's wallbreaking and take advantage of its common checks.

[SET COMMENTS]

Moonblast is a reliable secondary STAB move and enables Alolan Ninetales to pick off or break through would-be checks such as Cobalion and Umbreon after Nasty Plot. Dark Pulse is Alolan Ninetales's best coverage move to hit Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Chandelure super effectively while hitting Volcanion neutrally. Heavy-Duty Boots gives Alolan Ninetales more switch-in opportunities.

This set fits well on balance, bulky offense, and offense teams. Alolan Ninetales often struggles to find switch-in and setup opportunities; therefore, pivots such as Flygon, Milotic, and Darmanitan are important teammates. Spikes setters like Golisopod, Roserade, and Klefki help wear down opposing teams, especially bulky Steel-types and specially defensive Pokemon such as Stakataka, Registeel, Diancie, and Porygon2. Additionally, Roserade provides Sleep Powder support, Klefki can slow down faster threats with Thunder Wave, and Golisopod can weaken opposing Pokemon with Knock Off. Powerful physical wallbreakers like Guts Heracross, Golurk, and Durant also deal with bulky Steel-types and specially defensive Pokemon. Setup variants of Necrozma, Xurkitree, and Toxtricity can overwhelm shared checks and counters. Arctozolt appreciates hail and can weaken bulky foes for Alolan Ninetales. Defensive Flygon, Gastrodon, and Incineroar check faster threats such as Salazzle, Barraskewda, and Choice Scarf Darmanitan.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Hail is an option on the offensive support set for a better matchup against sun teams. Encore helps Nasty Plot Alolan Ninetales to create more setup opportunities by crippling opposing Pokemon. Freeze-Dry or Heal Bell is an option over Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set if the team struggles against bulky Water-types such as Suicune and Milotic or needs cleric support. However, Alolan Ninetales is heavily dependent on Dark Pulse to pressure Pokemon such as Chandelure, Bronzong, and Metagross.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Stakataka, and Metagross resist both of Alolan Ninetales's STAB moves and can either wear it down, set up on it, or directly KO it. However, the support set cripples passive Steel-types with Encore, and all sets can lure Metagross and Bronzong with Dark Pulse or Foul Play.

**Fire-types**: Torkoal can reliably switch into Alolan Ninetales and replace hail with sun, preventing Aurora Veil. Bulky Fire-types such as Volcanion and Incineroar can switch into Choice Specs Alolan Ninetales's Blizzard and threaten it with their Fire-type STAB moves. However, all of these Pokemon lack reliable recovery, meaning offensive sets are able to weaken them over the course of the battle. Faster Fire-types such as Salazzle and Choice Scarf Darmanitan revenge kill Alolan Ninetales easily.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Snorlax, Porygon2, and Assault Vest Reuniclus are examples of specially defensive Pokemon that can reliably switch into Alolan Ninetales and keep offensive sets in check. However, the support set can cripple Snorlax and Porygon2 with Encore.

**Faster Pokemon and Priority Users**: Choice Scarf users and naturally faster threats such as Heracross and Barraskweda can revenge kill all variants of Alolan Ninetales. Noivern and Crobat ignore Aurora Veil due to Infiltrator and 2HKO Alolan Ninetales. Strong priority users such as Metagross and Entei also revenge kill it.

**Opposing Weather Setters**: Torkoal and Politoed replace hail with their own weather and prevent Alolan Ninetales from setting Aurora Veil. Torkoal can also tank attacks from Alolan Ninetales and KO it in return. Politoed, however, must watch out for Freeze-Dry.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Alolan Ninetales stands out as a great offensive support for hyper offense teams, wallbreaker and Nasty Plot sweeper in RU.
  • Its ability Snow Warning enables Alolan Ninetales to setup Aurora Veil immediately while the access to Hypnosis and Encore allow it to support its teammates additionally.
  • info is good although id rather see 1 bullet on the support set first and then a second explaining both offensive sets niches
  • Snow Warning also gives Alolan Ninetales a perfect accurate Blizzard and this alongside its solid coverage makes it to a not to underestimate wallbreaker and threat to teams without a special defensive Steel-type or wall as well. mention how ice is a rlly good offensive typing in ru, and that + its speed is what lets specs work
  • Its Speed stat above common threats such as Celebi and Cobalion allows it to either setup Aurora Veil safely or to keep these Pokemon in check.
  • bullet on ninetales enabling arctozolt which is a big plus bc zolt is very good - maybe expand this onto hail teams more generally
  • However, Alolan Ninetales is rather frail, meaning it struggles to find setup and switch-in opportunities, especially if Stealth Rock are up on the battlefield. This issue also makes Alolan Ninetales easily revenge killed by faster threats and strong priority users such as Barraskewda, Choice Scarf Flygon, and Entei.
  • Offensive sets also struggle to break through common special walls and some Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka due to its mediocre Special Attack stat and lack of right coverage. In addition, Nasty Plot set is heavily dependent on the setup to deal noteworthy damage on some foes.
  • While hail enables Alolan Ninetales to setup Aurora Veil immediately, gives it a perfect accuracy Blizzard, and helps it to chip down opposing Pokemon, it also chips down the own Pokemon. In addition, opposing weather setter such as Torkoal and Politoed can prevent an Aurora Veil by replacing the weather, which makes its role as a supporter more difficult.

im unsure on slashes although i think encore should be first somewhere. i think foul play / encore act somewhat similarly in that they disable some steel types so i would put those together.

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Freeze Dry is the preferred STAB move on this set to deal better with defoggers such as Noivern, Crobat, and Flygon and to prevent Politoed from switching in for free to change the weather. blizzard makes it less passive and rain isnt all that common.
  • Foul Play allows Alolan Ninetales to deal better with some Steel-types and setup sweepers such as Metagross, Bronzong, and Polteageist. doublade too, which is annoying for hail and hyper offense
  • Hypnosis puts an opposing Pokemon to sleep, allowing a teammate to setup on it. i think encore is better at creating set up opportunities, if anything i would emphasize how it cripples a mon (usually a steel type which is nice), and thats all it needs on offense
  • Encore prevents bulky setup sweepers such as Necrozma, Reuniclus, and Snorlax from setting up on Alolan Ninetales for free and also cripples defensive threats such as Umbreon and Registeel. In this context, to lock an opposing Pokemon into a move with Encore gives the own setup sweepers more room to setup easier.
  • Hail is an option for a better match-up against opposing weather teams. drop this to oo, tales already has a good mu vs rain and its already strapped for moveslots
  • i would definitely mention moonblast, it hits fighting types which can be annoying sometimes and more importantly does decent dmg to cobalion which switches in freely otherwise
  • Since this set is often paired with Arctozolt Icy Rock is the preferred item to give it more hail turns. Furthermore, longer hail turns also give Alolan Ninetales more opportunities to setup Aurora Veil again and to get more chip damage on opposing Pokemon. However, Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead to give Alolan Ninetales more switch-in opportunities by preventing entry hazard damage.
  • Alolan Ninetales main role is to setup Aurora Veil safely and as often as possible which is the reason behind this EV spread. i think this part is self explanatory

  • This set fits best on hyper offense teams with setup sweepers that appreciate Alolan Ninetales's Aurora Veil such as Lucario, Linoone, and Polteageist.
  • Arctozolt is great choice for this playstyle as it is a powerful and - during hail - fast wallbreaker. Beyond that, the combination of Arctozolt and Alolan Ninetales's hail is a great way to weaken bulky Steel-types such as Cobalion, Metagross, and Registeel which is appreciated by setup sweepers that struggle with them such as Mimikyu, Necrozma, and Linoone. They can also do the same in return to help out Arctozolt for its own sweep.
  • Noivern and Crobat are annoying threats for this playstyle since they ignore the Aurora Veil due to their ability Infiltrator and can remove the Aurora Veil with Defog. As a result, setup sweepers that check them such as Slurpuff, Mimikyu, and Toxtricity are important.
  • Offensive Incineroar, Dragon Dance Flygon, and Cobalion take advantage of the Steel-types that Alolan Ninetales usually baits in such as Registeel, Metagross, and Stakataka.
  • Misty Surge Galarian Weezing with Memento, Ribombee with Sticky Web, and Stealth Rock Cobalion can be used to support the setup sweepers additionally.
  • this section is fine although i would like to see a mention on teams specifically centered around tales / zolt. right now you focus on zolt as a complementary wallbreaker on screens, which is good, but i think semi hail structures are generally p different than screens hyper offense (like in the zolt analysis). for example i would mention that because hail teams require 2 ice types, it means theyre usually restricted in teamslots and so role compression is very important, ie hazard control mons usually pivot as well, and theres not much space for mons that have no defensive presence like darmanitan

  • Blizzard is Alolan Ninetales's strongest move due to its perfect accurate under hail. self explanatory

  • Arctozolt is a great teammate as its Speed gets doubled during hail and it helps Alolan Ninetales to overwhelm bulky Steel-types.

  • Alolan Ninetales often struggles to find switch-in and setup opportunities. • Heal Bell instead of Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set can be used if the team needs cleric support. However, Alolan Ninetales heavily dependent on Dark Puls to not be checked by Pokemon such as Chandelure, Bronzong, and Metagross. i think this is too specific for an analysis but ill leave it up to another qc member. either way put this last slot
  • Encore helps Nast Plot set to create more setup opportunities by crippling opposing Pokemon.
  • Freeze Dry instead of Dark Pulse is also an option if the team too much struggle against bulky Water-types that resist its Blizzard such as Suicune and Milotic.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Stakataka, and Metagross resist both of Alolan Ninetales STAB moves and can either wear it down, setup on it or knock it out directly. However, the support set cripples passive Steel-types with Encore while both sets can lure Metagross and Bronzong with either Dark Pulse or Foul Play.

**Fire-types**: Torkoal can reliably switch into Alolan Ninetales and then replace the hail with sun, preventing support sets from setting up Aurora Veil. Bulky Fire-types such as Volcanion and Incineroar can switch into Choice Specs Alolan Ninetales's Blizzard and then threaten it with their Fire-type move. However, all of these Pokemon lack a reliable recovery move, meaning offensive sets are able to weaken them down over the battle with its moves and hail damage. Faster Fire-types such as Salazzle and Choice Scarf Darmanitan, on the other hand, revenge kill Alolan Ninetales easily once they get a free switch-in.

**Opposing Weather Setters**: Torkoal and Politoed replace the weather with their own and prevent Alolan Ninetales from setting up its Aurora Veil. In addition, Torkoal can also tank some attacks from Alolan Ninetales due to their typing and quickly knock it out in return. However, Politoed must watch out for Freeze Dry. put this bullet last

**Specially Defensive Threats**: Snorlax, Porygon2, and Assault Vest Reuniclus are examples of special defensive Pokemon that can reliable pivot into Alolan Ninetales, keep offensive sets in check, and take advantage of it. However, the support set can cripple Snorlax and Porygon2 with Encore.

**Faster Threats and Priority Users**: Choice Scarf users and naturally faster threats such as Heracross and Barraksweda can revenge kill all variants of Alolan Ninetales. Noivern and Crobat ignore the Aurora Veil due to their ability which is troublesome for hyper offense teams and 2HKO Alolan Ninetales. Strong priority users such as Metagross and Entei are also able to revenge kill it.

item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Snow Warning
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

  • Blizzard is Alolan Ninetales's strongest move due to its perfect accurate under hail.
  • Dark Pulse is Alolan Ninetales best coverage move to hit Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Chandelure for super effective damage while hitting Volcanion and Registeel for neutral damage you still do 0 to regi, not worth mentioning imo
  • Snow Warning is Alolan Ninetales best ability since it gives Blizzard a perfect accurate.
  • Heavy-Duty Boots gives Alolan Ninetales more switch-in opportunities by preventing entry hazard damage.

  • This set fits well on balance and bulky offense teams but also on more offensive teams as a strong setup sweeper.
  • Alolan Ninetales often struggles to find switch-in and setup opportunities. As a result, pivots that bring Alolan Ninetales in favourable match-ups are great teammates and Pokemon such as Flygon, Milotic, and Darmanitan can fill this role. mention a specific scenario, like celebi uturning on a togekiss or something
  • Spikes support from the likes of Golisopod, Roserade, or Klefki is helpful to wear down opposing team additionally, especially bulky Steel-types and special defensive Pokemon such as Stakataka, Registeel, Diancie, and Porygon2. In addition, Roserade provides Sleep Powder support, Klefki can slow down faster threats with Thunder Wave, and Golisopod can weaken opposing Pokemon by removing their items with Knock Off.
  • Powerful physical wallbreakers like Guts Heracross, Golurk, and Durant deal with bulky Steel-types and special defensive Pokemon.
  • Setup variants of Necrozma, Xurkitree, and Toxtricity have similar counters and switch-ins like Alolan Ninetales and together they can overwhelm these counters for each other.
  • Arctozolt's Speed gets doubled during hail and can weaken bulky foes for Alolan Ninetales.
  • Defensive Flygon, Gastrodon, and Incineroar give Alolan Ninetales a reliable defensive backbone that check faster threats such as Salazzle, Barraskewda, and Choice Scarf Darmanitan.

Other Options
=============

===================

Strong priority users such as Metagross and Entei are also able to revenge kill it.

let me know when this is done to stamp
Alright, I think I have it all and you can check it again zizalith.
I've rewitten the overview to reflect the changes better and hope it's better. I've also changed the slashes for the first set but I'm a little bit unsure if I understood you correctly - so sorry in advance if the slashes are not perfect. I changed the team-section from the first set and added some infos for teams that use tales/zolt-core, thus, I'm a little bit worried that this section is now too long - but I hope everything you want to see is now included. In addition, I also changed the sidenote about Arctozolt for the Specs set a little bit. Futhermore, I hope the mention of VoltTurn support for Specs and NP is now fine

Lastly, powerful lategame cleaners such as appreciate Alolan Ninetales ability. idk what this means
My bad, I somehow skilfully overlooked this point :pikuh: I have now completed it

[OVERVIEW]

  • Alolan Ninetales's outstanding ability to setup Aurora Veil immediately due to its Snow Warning and to create setup opportunities for its teammates with Encore and Hypnosis additionally make it to a great offensive support for hyper offense teams.
  • Furthermore, its Speed stat above common threats such as Celebi and Cobalion allows it to setup Aurora Veil safely.
  • Snow Warning also gives Alolan Ninetales a perfect accurate Blizzard and this alongside its high Speed stat and solid coverage let Alolan Ninetales act as a strong wallbreaker or Nasty Plot sweeper in RU where Ice-resistances are rare.
  • you mention speed twice, a single bullet on it is more concise
  • In general, Alolan Ninetales is the best hail setter overall in RU which enables it to use the threatening Arctozolt easier and this also makes hail oriented teams stronger.

[SET COMMENTS]

  • Blizzard makes Alolan Ninetales less passive and enables it to defeat defoggers such as Noivern, Crobat, and Flygon.
  • Foul Play allows Alolan Ninetales to deal better with some Steel-types and setup sweepers such as Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Polteageist.
  • Hypnosis cripples an opposing Pokemon, most likely a Steel-type that tries to take advantage of Alolan Ninetales, and gives the own setup sweepers an easier time. However, Hypnosis is not a reliable move due to its low accuracy and to lose a turn by missing is a big setback.
  • Moonblast is an option to deal better with Fighting-types, especially Cobalion, which can be troublesome for the playstyles.

  • This set fits best on hyper offense and hail oriented teams.
  • Arctozolt is in general a great choice as a teammate because it is a powerful and - under hail - fast wallbreaker.
  • On hyper offense teams, strong setup sweepers such as Mimikyu, Necrozma, and Linoone that Arctozolt and Alolan Ninetales weaken troublesome bulky Steel-types such as Cobalion, Metagross, and Registeel and, of course, the Aurora Veil from Alolan Ninetales for easier setup opportunities and difficult revenge killing.
  • Setup sweepers such as Dragon Dance Flygon, Cobalion, and Lucario take advantage of the Steel-types that Alolan Ninetales usually baits in such as Registeel, Metagross, and Stakataka.
  • Noivern and Crobat are annoying threats for hyper offense teams since they ignore the Aurora Veil due to their ability Infiltrator and can remove the Aurora Veil with Defog. As a result, setup sweepers that check them such as Slurpuff, Mimikyu, and Toxtricity are important.
  • Misty Surge Galarian Weezing with Memento, Ribombee with Sticky Web, and Stealth Rock Cobalion can be used to support the setup sweepers additionally.
  • On more semi hail teams and other non-hyper offense teams that include the combination of Alolan Ninetales and Arctozolt, it is important to note that the other four teammates must provide multiple role compressions because these two provide very little.
  • Noivern and Starmie can fill this vacuum by providing Defog support, momentum, and giving some defensive utility with the meaning of checking Fighting- and Fire-types like Cobalion, Heracross, and Darmanitan. Klefki has a useful defensive utility and provides Spikes support. Pivot variants of Flygon, Incineroar, and Cobalion covers important role compression and deal with troublesome Steel-types. Heracross, Flygon, and Gardevoir are great Choice Scarf users that provide reliable Speed control, a lategame sweeper, and, in case of Gardevoir, Healing Wish support if needed.

  • Furthermore, Its Speed stat above common threats such as Celebi and Cobalion allows it to either setup Aurora Veil safely or to keep these Pokemon in check.
  • In general, Alolan Ninetales is the best hail setter overall in RU which enables it to use the threatening Arctozolt easier and this also makes hail oriented teams stronger.

  • Blizzard makes Alolan Ninetales less passive and enables it to defeat defoggers such as Noivern, Crobat, and Flygon.

  • This set fits best on hyper offense and hail oriented teams.
  • Arctozolt is in general a great choice as a teammate because it is a powerful and - under hail - fast wallbreaker.

For example, Raikou and Xurkitree often pivot out of bulky Grass-types such as Dhelmise and Roserade while Darmanitan, Barraskewda, and Flygon usually bait bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon onto the battlefield.
  • Even though Arctozolt is a good choice as a teammate due to its offensive synergie with Alolan Ninetales, it is important to note that this combination limit the teambuilding process due to their poor role compression.

  • Dark Pulse is Alolan Ninetales best coverage move to hit Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Chandelure for super effective damage while hitting Volcanion for neutral damage.

  • This set fits well on balance and bulky offense teams but also on more offensive teams as a strong setup sweeper.
  • Alolan Ninetales often struggles to find switch-in and setup opportunities. Therefore, pivots that bring Alolan Ninetales into favourable match-ups are important teammates and Pokemon such as Flygon, Milotic, and Darmanitan can fill this role since they often pivoting out of Pokemon such as Togekiss, Celebi, and Seismitoad of which Alolan Ninetales takes advantage.

Other Options
=============

  • Hail is an option on the offensive support set for a better match-up against sun teams.
  • Encore helps Nast Plot set to create more setup opportunities by crippling opposing Pokemon.
  • Freeze Dry instead of Dark Pulse is also an option on the Nasty Plot set if the team too much struggle against bulky Water-types that resist its Blizzard such as Suicune and Milotic.
  • Heal Bell instead of Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set can be used if the team needs cleric support. However, Alolan Ninetales heavily dependent on Dark Puls to not be checked by Pokemon such as Chandelure, Bronzong, and Metagross.

Checks and Counters
===================

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Ninetales's outstanding ability to setup Aurora Veil immediately due to its Snow Warning (Are there any other Aurora Veil setters in the tier? If not, then this can be deleted) and to create setup opportunities for its teammates with Encore and Hypnosis additionally make it to a great offensive support choice for hyper offense teams. Snow Warning also gives Alolan Ninetales a perfect -> perfectly accurate Blizzard, (AC) which is a strong offensive move in RU. (AP) and this -> This, (AC) in combination with its solid coverage, (AC) let -> lets Alolan Ninetales act as a strong wallbreaker or Nasty Plot sweeper outside of hyper offense. Furthermore, Its Speed stat above -> it outspeeds common threats such as Celebi and Cobalion, (AC) allows -> allowing it to either setup Aurora Veil safely or to keep these Pokemon in check. In general, Alolan Ninetales is the best hail setter overall in RU which enables it to use the threatening Arctozolt easier and this also makes hail oriented teams stronger. (Considering there are no other hail setters in the RU VR currently, this sentence is redundant at best) However, Alolan Ninetales is rather frail, meaning it struggles to find setup and switch-in opportunities, (This is what frail means) especially if Stealth Rock are up on the battlefield. This issue also makes Alolan Ninetales easily revenge killed by faster threats and strong priority users such as Barraskewda, Choice Scarf Flygon, and Entei. Offensive sets also struggle to break through common special walls and some Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka due to its mediocre Special Attack stat and lack of coverage. In addition, Nasty Plot set is heavily dependent on the setup to deal noteworthy damage on some foes. (Yes, it's a Nasty Plot set. This sentence is not needed) Lastly, While -> while hail enables Alolan Ninetales to setup Aurora Veil immediately, gives it a perfect accuracy -> an accurate Blizzard, and helps it to chip down opposing Pokemon, it also chips down the own Pokemon -> teammates. In addition, opposing weather setter such as Torkoal and Politoed can prevent an Aurora Veil by replacing the weather, which makes its role as a supporter more difficult. Moonblast is an option to deal better -> better deal with Fighting-types, especially Cobalion, which can be troublesome for the playstyles -> hyper offense (Not too sure what you mean by the playstyles but I assume you mean HO so it would be best to specify). This set fits best on hyper offense and hail-oriented teams. Arctozolt is in general a great choice as a teammate because it is a powerful and - under hail - fast wallbreaker under hail. As a result, setup sweepers that check them such as Slurpuff, Mimikyu, (you already mention Mimikyu as a setup sweeper)(Remove the commas) and Toxtricity are important. On more semi-hail (Added Hyphen) teams and other non-hyper offense teams that include the combination of Alolan Ninetales and Arctozolt, it is important to note that the other four teammates must provide multiple role compressions because these two provide very little. (This is just what VoltTurn does, I highly doubt you would pivot Ninetales into an unfavorable matchup) For example, Raikou and Xurkitree often pivot out of -> on bulky Grass-types such as Dhelmise and Roserade while Darmanitan, Barraskewda, and Flygon usually bait bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon onto the battlefield. Even though Arctozolt is a good choice as a teammate due to its offensive synergie with Alolan Ninetales, it is important to note that this combination limit the teambuilding process due to their poor role compression. (This sentence makes no sense. I understand being strapped for teamslots on HO, but Ninetales and Arctozolt are just two breakers which can easily fit on a team. I'd replace it with a sentence saying why Arctozolt is good (i.e. hail makes it a dangerous wallbreaker)) A reliable -> Reliable entry hazard control such as Noivern, Starmie, or Xatu is necessary, since Alolan Ninetales is affected by every entry hazard, especially -> weak to Stealth Rock. Spikes support from the likes of Golisopod, Roserade, and Klefki helps Alolan Ninetales to wear down special walls and bulky Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka additionally. Strong physical attackers such as Heracross, Golurk, and Flygon are also helpful to deal with the these threats. Seismitoad, defensive Flygon, and Suicune check offensive Fire- and Steel-types like Salazzle, Incineroar, and Metagross that try to -> can take advantage of Alolan Ninetales once it is locked into one of its STAB moves. Late-game cleaners such as Choice Scarf Heracross and Dragon Dance Flygon appreciate Alolan Ninetales -> Alolan Ninetales's (AA) wallbreaking ability and take advantage of many -> Alolan Ninetales's common checks from it.

[SET COMMENTS]

Moonblast is a reliable secondary STAB move and enables Alolan Ninetales to pick off or break through would-be checks such as Cobalion and Umbreon after a Nasty Plot. (For reference, this sentence is OK even though it talks about a STAB move because it is talking about its interaction with Nasty Plot) Dark Pulse is Alolan Ninetales -> Ninetales's (AA) best coverage move to hit Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Chandelure for super effective damage -> super effectively while hitting Volcanion for neutral damage -> neutrally. Heavy-Duty Boots gives Alolan Ninetales more switch-in opportunities by preventing entry hazard damage (I would add something along the lines of "and increases its sweeping potential" to show why boots is so valuable on an offensive set).

This set fits well on balance, (AC) and bulky offense, (AC) and offense teams, but also on more offense teams as a strong setup sweeper. Alolan Ninetales often struggles to find switch-in and setup opportunities; therefore (semicolon), pivots such as Flygon, Milotic, and Darmanitan are important teammates. that bring Alolan Ninetales into favourable match-ups are important teammates and Pokemon such as Flygon, Milotic, and Darmanitan can fill this role, since they often pivoting out of Pokemon such as Togekiss, Celebi, and Seismitoad of which Alolan Ninetales takes advantage. Hail is an option on the offensive support set for a better match-up against sun teams. Encore helps Nast -> the Nasty Plot set to create more setup opportunities by crippling opposing Pokemon. Freeze Dry instead of Dark Pulse is also an option over Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set (Remove Comma) if the team too much struggle -> struggles against bulky Water-types that resist its Blizzard (This is what bulky Water-types do, so no need to say it) such as Suicune and Milotic. Heal Bell instead of -> can also be run over Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set can be used, (Remove Comma) if the team needs cleric support. However, Alolan Ninetales is heavily dependent on Dark Puls -> Pulse to not be checked by -> pressure Pokemon such as Chandelure, Bronzong, and Metagross.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Stakataka, and Metagross resist both of Alolan Ninetales STAB moves and can either wear it down, setup on it or knock it out directly. However, the support set cripples passive Steel-types with Encore while -> and both sets can lure Metagross and Bronzong with either Dark Pulse or Foul Play.

**Fire-types**: Torkoal can reliably switch into Alolan Ninetales and then replace the hail with sun, preventing support sets from setting up Aurora Veil. Bulky Fire-types such as Volcanion and Incineroar can switch into Choice Specs Alolan Ninetales's Blizzard and then threaten it with their Fire-type STAB moves move. However, all of these Pokemon lack a reliable recovery move, meaning offensive sets are able to weaken them down over the course of the battle with its moves and hail damage. Faster Fire-types such as Salazzle and Choice Scarf Darmanitan, on the other hand, revenge kill Alolan Ninetales easily once they get a free switch-in.

**Specially Defensive Threats -> Walls**: Snorlax, Porygon2, and Assault Vest Reuniclus are examples of special -> specially defensive Pokemon that can reliable pivot -> reliably switch into Alolan Ninetales, keep offensive sets in check, and take advantage of it. However, the support set can cripple Snorlax and Porygon2 with Encore.

**Faster Threats -> Pokemon and Priority Users**: Choice Scarf users and naturally faster threats such as Heracross and Barraksweda can revenge kill all variants of Alolan Ninetales. Noivern and Crobat ignore the Aurora Veil due to their ability which is troublesome for hyper offense teams -> Infiltrator and 2HKO Alolan Ninetales. Strong priority users such as Metagross and Entei are also able to revenge kill it.

However, Politoed, however, must watch out for Freeze Dry. (Moved the however to more clearly state that the sentence is about only Politoed)

(You talk about this in Checks and Counters, no need to mention it here)

[SET COMMENTS]

Blizzard makes Alolan Ninetales less passive and enables it to defeat defoggers such as Noivern, Crobat, and Flygon. Encore prevents bulky setup sweepers such as Necrozma, Reuniclus, and Snorlax from setting up on Alolan Ninetales for free and -> while also cripples -> crippling defensive threats such as Umbreon and Registeel. In this context, to lock an opposing Pokemon into a move with Encore gives the own setup sweepers more room to setup easier. -> Encore additionally can ease the setup of Alolan Ninetales's teammates. Foul Play allows Alolan Ninetales to deal better with some -> hit Steel-types and setup sweepers such as Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Polteageist. Hypnosis cripples an opposing Pokemon, most likely a Steel-type that tries to take advantage of Alolan Ninetales, and gives the own setup sweepers an easier time. -> Hypnosis can further cripple opposing Steel-types and give Alolan Ninetales's teammates more setup opportunities. However, Hypnosis is not a reliable move due to its low accuracy and to lose a turn by missing is a big setback. Moonblast is an option to deal better -> better deal with Fighting-types, especially Cobalion, which can be troublesome for the playstyles -> hyper offense (Not too sure what you mean by the playstyles but I assume you mean HO so it would be best to specify). Since this set is often paired with Arctozolt, Icy Rock is the preferred item to give it more hail turns. Furthermore, longer hail turns also give -> gives Alolan Ninetales more opportunities to setup Aurora Veil again and to get more chip damage on opposing Pokemon. However, Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead to give -> provide Alolan Ninetales with (changed to avoid repetition) more switch-in opportunities by preventing entry hazard damage. (You don't need to explain what boots do)

This set fits best on hyper offense and hail-oriented teams. Arctozolt is in general a great choice as a teammate because it is a powerful and - under hail - fast wallbreaker under hail. On hyper offense teams, strong setup sweepers such as Mimikyu, Necrozma, and Linoone that Arctozolt and Alolan Ninetales -> can weaken troublesome bulky Steel-types such as Cobalion, Metagross, and Registeel for Arctozolt. (AP) and, of course, the -> They also enjoy Aurora Veil from Alolan Ninetales, (AP) allowing for easier -> more setup opportunities and difficult revenge killing -> disallowing the opponent to revenge kill them. Other Setup -> setup sweepers such as Dragon Dance Flygon, Cobalion, and Lucario take advantage of the aforementioned Steel-types that Alolan Ninetales usually baits in such as Registeel, Metagross, and Stakataka. Noivern and Crobat are annoying threats for hyper offense teams, since they ignore the Aurora Veil due to their ability Infiltrator and can remove the Aurora Veil with Defog. As a result, setup sweepers that check them such as Slurpuff, Mimikyu, (you already mention Mimikyu as a setup sweeper)(Remove the commas) and Toxtricity are important. Misty Surge Galarian Weezing with Memento, Ribombee with Sticky Web, and Stealth Rock Cobalion can be used to further support the setup -> above sweepers additionally. On more semi-hail (Added Hyphen) teams and other non-hyper offense teams that include the combination of Alolan Ninetales and Arctozolt, it is important to note that the other four teammates must provide multiple role compressions because these two provide very little. For example, Noivern and Starmie can fill this vacuum by providing -> provide Defog support, momentum, and giving -> give some defensive utility with the meaning of -> while checking Fighting- and Fire-types like Cobalion, Heracross, and Darmanitan. Klefki has a useful defensive utility and provides -> can be used for Spikes support. Pivot variants of Flygon, Incineroar, and Cobalion covers important -> offer further role compression and deal with troublesome Steel-types. Heracross, Flygon, and Gardevoir are great Choice Scarf users that provide reliable Speed control, a late-game sweeper, and, in case of Gardevoir, Healing Wish support, if needed. (OK, but can you explain here why Alolan Ninetales likes having a teammate that is a Choice Scarf user?)

Thank you very much for your AM GP check dex :). I'll implement the rest tomorrow bc it is a little bit late for me. In the meantime, I need some small details on the following points:

In general, Alolan Ninetales is the best hail setter overall in RU which enables it to use the threatening Arctozolt easier and this also makes hail oriented teams stronger. (Considering there are no other hail setters in the RU VR currently, this sentence is redundant at best)
zizalith said in this post I should give Arctozolt a mention in the overview. Is something like "Alolan Ninetales enables an easier use of the threatining Arctozolt on many teams and this also makes hail based teams more usable" better?

(OK, but can you explain here why Alolan Ninetales likes having a teammate that is a Choice Scarf user?)
In most cases it is better for the team to have a reliable Speed control - they shouldn't rely on Arctozolt. This is why I said "[...] are great Choice Scarf users that provide reliable Speed control [...]". If that's too imprecise, is something like "Since teams should not rely on Arctozolt as their main Speed control, a more reliable one such as Choice Scarf Gardevoir, Heracross, and Flygon is recommendable." better?

Moonblast enables Alolan Ninetales to either break through or revenge kill certain targets such as Umbreon and Cobalion. (You don't need to explain what STAB moves do)
Is something like "Moonblast's main use is to break through or revenge kill few certain targets such as Umbreon and Cobalion easier." better? bc zizalith said I should give it a mention.

Despite RU has Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Quasire, I should still remove the remark "that resist its Blizzard"?

I would say something like that, an example sentence would be "Alolan Ninetales enables Arctozolt, a powerful breaker in the tier, through hail."

In most cases it is better for the team to have a reliable Speed control - they shouldn't rely on Arctozolt. This is why I said "[...] are great Choice Scarf users that provide reliable Speed control [...]". That's absolutely the point! I like that sentence a lot, so something like "Arctozolt should not be a team's sole source of Speed control due to weather's inconsistency, so a Choice Scarf user such as Gardevoir, Heracross, or Flygon is recommendable"

Is something like "Moonblast's main use is to break through or revenge kill few certain targets such as Umbreon and Cobalion easier." better? bc zizalith said I should give it a mention.
I think this is acceptable, but change the "few certain targets" to "common Ninetales switchins", "common defensive Pokemon", or something along those lines

Despite RU has Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Quasire, I should still remove the remark "that resist its Blizzard"?
Considering +2 Blizzard does not OHKO any of these mons, I would still remove the "that resist its Blizzard" remark, yes.

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Ninetales's outstanding ability to setup Aurora Veil and create setup opportunities for its teammates with Encore and Hypnosis makes it a great offensive support choice for hyper offense teams. Furthermore, it outspeeds common threats such as Celebi and Cobalion, allowing it to either setup Aurora Veil safely or to keep these Pokemon in check. Alolan Ninetales's hail support enables the use of Arctozolt, a fearsome wallbreaker in RU, on many teams. However, Alolan Ninetales is rather frail and weak to Stealth Rock. (RC) This makes Alolan Ninetales, (AC) making it easily revenge killed by faster threats and strong priority users such as Barraskewda, Choice Scarf Flygon, and Entei. Offensive sets also struggle to break through common special walls and some Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka due to its mediocre Special Attack stat and lack of coverage. Lastly, while hail enables Alolan Ninetales to setup Aurora Veil immediately, gives it an accurate Blizzard, and helps it to chip down opposing Pokemon, it also chips down teammates.

Raikou and Xurkitree often pivot on bulky Grass-types such as Dhelmise and Roserade, (AC) while Darmanitan, Barraskewda, and Flygon usually bait bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon onto the battlefield. Arctozolt forms a strong offensive wallbreaker core with Alolan Ninetales and appreciates its hail support, but it is important to note that this core limits the teambuilding process due to their poor role compression. Reliable entry hazard control such as Noivern, Starmie, or Xatu is necessary, since Alolan Ninetales is weakt to Stealth Rock. Spikes support from the likes of Golisopod, Roserade, and Klefki helps Alolan Ninetales wear down special walls and bulky Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka. Strong physical attackers such as Heracross, Golurk, and Flygon are also helpful to deal with the these threats. Seismitoad, defensive Flygon, and Suicune check offensive Fire- and Steel-types like Salazzle, Incineroar, and Metagross that can take advantage of Alolan Ninetales once it is locked into one of its STAB moves. Late-game cleaners such as Choice Scarf Heracross and Dragon Dance Flygon appreciate Alolan Ninetales's wallbreaking ability and take advantage of Alolan Ninetales's common checks.

[SET COMMENTS]

Moonblast is a reliable secondary STAB move and enables Alolan Ninetales to pick off or break through would-be checks such as Cobalion and Umbreon after a Nasty Plot. Dark Pulse is Alolan Ninetales's best coverage move to hit Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Chandelure super effectively while hitting Volcanion neutrally. Heavy-Duty Boots gives Alolan Ninetales more switch-in opportunities by preventing entry hazard damage.

This set fits well on balance, bulky offense, and offense teams. Alolan Ninetales often struggles to find switch-in and setup opportunities; therefore, pivots such as Flygon, Milotic, and Darmanitan are important teammates. Spikes support from the likes of Golisopod, Roserade, or Klefki is helpful for wearing down opposing teams, especially bulky Steel-types and specially defensive Pokemon such as Stakataka, Registeel, Diancie, and Porygon2. Additionally, Roserade provides Sleep Powder support, Klefki can slow down faster threats with Thunder Wave, and Golisopod can weaken opposing Pokemon by removing their items with Knock Off. Powerful physical wallbreakers like Guts Heracross, Golurk, and Durant also deal with bulky Steel-types and specially defensive Pokemon. Setup variants of Necrozma, Xurkitree, and Toxtricity have similar counters and switch-ins to Alolan Ninetales and together can overwhelm them. Arctozolt appreciates hail and can weaken bulky foes for Alolan Ninetales. Defensive Flygon, Gastrodon, and Incineroar check faster threats such as Salazzle, Barraskewda, and Choice Scarf Darmanitan.

Hail is an option on the offensive support set for a better match-up matchup against sun teams. Encore helps Nasty Plot set Alolan Ninetales to create more setup opportunities by crippling opposing Pokemon. Freeze-Dry is also an option over Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set if the team struggles against bulky Water-types such as Suicune and Milotic. Heal Bell can also be run over Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set if the team needs cleric support. However, Alolan Ninetales is heavily dependent on Dark Pulse to pressure Pokemon such as Chandelure, Bronzong, and Metagross.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Stakataka, and Metagross resist both of Alolan Ninetales STAB moves and can either wear it down, set up (space between set and up) on it, (AC) or knock it out directly. However, the support set cripples passive Steel-types with Encore and both sets can lure Metagross and Bronzong with Dark Pulse or Foul Play.

Faster Fire-types such as Salazzle and Choice Scarf Darmanitan, on the other hand, revenge kill Alolan Ninetales easily.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Snorlax, Porygon2, and Assault Vest Reuniclus are examples of specially defensive Pokemon that can reliably switch into Alolan Ninetales, keeping offensive sets in check. However, the support set can cripple Snorlax and Porygon2 with Encore.

**Faster Pokemon and Priority Users**: Choice Scarf users and naturally faster threats such as Heracross and Barraksweda Barraskewda can revenge kill all variants of Alolan Ninetales. Noivern and Crobat ignore Aurora Veil due to Infiltrator and 2HKO Alolan Ninetales. Strong priority users such as Metagross and Entei are also able to revenge kill it.

**Opposing Weather Setters**: Torkoal and Politoed replace the weather hail with their own weather and prevent Alolan Ninetales from setting up its Aurora Veil. Torkoal can tank attacks from Alolan Ninetales and quickly knock it out in return. Politoed, however, must watch out for Freeze-Dry.

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Ninetales's outstanding ability to setup Aurora Veil and create setup opportunities for its teammates with Encore and Hypnosis makes it a great offensive support choice for hyper offense teams.

Foul Play allows Alolan Ninetales to hit Steel-types and setup sweepers such as Metagross, Bronzong, Doublade, and Polteageist. Since this set is often paired with Arctozolt, Icy Rock is the preferred item to give it more hail turns. Furthermore, longer hail gives Alolan Ninetales more opportunities to setup Aurora Veil. However, Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead to provide Alolan Ninetales with more switch-in opportunities.

They also enjoy Aurora Veil from Alolan Ninetales, allowing for more setup opportunities and disallowing the opponent to foe from revenge killing them. Other setup sweepers such as Dragon Dance Flygon, Cobalion, and Lucario take advantage of the aforementioned Steel-types that Alolan Ninetales usually baits in. Noivern and Crobat are annoying threats for hyper offense teams, since they ignore the Aurora Veil due to Infiltrator and can remove Aurora Veil it with Defog. As a result, setup sweepers that check them such as Slurpuff and Toxtricity are important. Misty Surge Galarian Weezing with Memento, Ribombee with Sticky Web, and Stealth Rock Cobalion can be used to further support the above sweepers. On semi-hail teams and other non-hyper offense teams that include the combination of Alolan Ninetales and Arctozolt, it is important to note that the other four teammates must provide role compression. For example, Noivern and Starmie provide Defog support, momentum, and give some defensive utility while checking Fighting- and Fire-types like Cobalion, Heracross, and Darmanitan. Klefki can be used for Spikes support. Pivot variants of Flygon, Incineroar, and Cobalion offer further role compression and deal with troublesome Steel-types. Arctozolt should not be a team's sole source of speed control due to weather's inconsistency, so a Choice Scarf user such as Gardevoir, Heracross, or Flygon is recommendable.

As a result, setup sweepers that check them such as Slurpuff and Toxtricity are important. Misty Surge Galarian Weezing with Memento, Ribombee with Sticky Web Ribombee, and Stealth Rock Cobalion can be used to further support the above sweepers. Arctozolt should not be a team's sole source of speed control due to weather's inconsistency, so a Choice Scarf user such as Gardevoir, Heracross, or Flygon is recommendable recommended.

Raikou and Xurkitree often pivot on bulky Grass-types such as Dhelmise and Roserade, while Darmanitan, Barraskewda, and Flygon usually bait bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Seismitoad, and Gastrodon onto the battlefield. Arctozolt forms a strong offensive wallbreaker wallbreaking core with Alolan Ninetales and appreciates its hail support, but it is important to note that this core limits the teambuilding process due to their poor role compression. Reliable entry hazard control such as Noivern, Starmie, or Xatu is necessary, since Alolan Ninetales is weak to Stealth Rock. Spikes support from the likes of setters like Golisopod, Roserade, and Klefki helps Alolan Ninetales wear down special walls and bulky Steel-types such as Snorlax, Registeel, and Stakataka. Strong physical attackers such as Heracross, Golurk, and Flygon are also helpful to deal with the these threats. Seismitoad, defensive Flygon, and Suicune check offensive Fire- and Steel-types like Salazzle, Incineroar, and Metagross,(AC) that can which take advantage of Alolan Ninetales once it is locked into one of its STAB moves. Late-game cleaners such as Choice Scarf Heracross and Dragon Dance Flygon appreciate Alolan Ninetales's wallbreaking ability and take advantage of Alolan Ninetales's its common checks.

Spikes support from the likes of setters like Golisopod, Roserade, or and Klefki is helpful for wearing help wear down opposing teams, especially bulky Steel-types and specially defensive Pokemon such as Stakataka, Registeel, Diancie, and Porygon2. Setup variants of Necrozma, Xurkitree, and Toxtricity have similar counters and switch-ins to Alolan Ninetales and together can overwhelm them shared checks and counters. Arctozolt appreciates hail and can weaken bulky foes for Alolan Ninetales. Defensive Flygon, Gastrodon, and Incineroar check faster threats such as Salazzle, Barraskewda, and Choice Scarf Darmanitan.

Other Options
=============

Hail is an option on the offensive support set for a better matchup against sun teams. Encore helps Nasty Plot Alolan Ninetales to create more setup opportunities by crippling opposing Pokemon. Freeze-Dry or Heal Bell is also an option over Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set if the team struggles against bulky Water-types such as Suicune and Milotic.(remove period Heal Bell can also be run over Dark Pulse on the Nasty Plot set if the team or needs cleric support. However, Alolan Ninetales is heavily dependent on Dark Pulse to pressure Pokemon such as Chandelure, Bronzong, and Metagross.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Registeel, Stakataka, and Metagross resist both of Alolan Ninetales's STAB moves and can either wear it down, set up on it, or knock it out directly KO it. However, the support set cripples passive Steel-types with Encore,(AC) and both all sets can lure Metagross and Bronzong with Dark Pulse or Foul Play.(there are more than two sets)

Faster Fire-types such as Salazzle and Choice Scarf Darmanitan,(RC) on the other hand,(RC) revenge kill Alolan Ninetales easily.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Snorlax, Porygon2, and Assault Vest Reuniclus are examples of specially defensive Pokemon that can reliably switch into Alolan Ninetales,(RC) keeping and keep offensive sets in check.

Strong priority users such as Metagross and Entei are also able to revenge kill it.

**Opposing Weather Setters**: Torkoal and Politoed replace hail with their own weather and prevent Alolan Ninetales from setting Aurora Veil. Torkoal can also tank attacks from Alolan Ninetales and quickly knock it out KO it in return. Politoed, however, must watch out for Freeze-Dry.
