[OVERVIEW]
Ferrothorn is a valuable defensive piece for a variety of offensive and defensive teams. While Leech Seed is its main recovery move, giving it issues with longevity, it's still a fantastic check to physical attackers such as Weavile, Melmetal, and Tyranitar. It also has good enough special bulk to take hits from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele. Its fantastic typing with many valuable resistances helps it check both physical and special attackers,. One of its most valuable attributes, however, is that it is a solid Spikes setter, which is a fantastic means to support the rest of its team.

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
=========

Ferrothorn is one of the few Pokemon that learns Spikes in the metagame and can support its team immensely with them. Stealth Rock can be run if the team lacks another entry hazard setter, but the opportunity cost of not having Spikes is very high. Multiple layers of Spikes can quickly wear down walls like Tapu Fini, Melmetal, and Heatran. Leech Seed is Ferrothorn's only viable recovery move and can provide valuable chip damage on switch-ins like Heatran for its teammates, force switches to stop its HP drain, and heal allies as they come in. The remaining moveslots are heavily team-dependent. Power Whip is often Ferrothorn's strongest attack and particularly eliminates Water-types like Tapu Fini and Rotom-W, while Body Press allows it to hit Steel-types such as opposing Ferrothorn, Heatran, Melmetal, and Kartana. Importantly, Body Press chunks Heatran as it comes in, which can be huge for many of Ferrothorn's common teammates. Gyro Ball is its best option versus Fairy-types like Tapu Lele while also dealing huge damage to speedy threats such as Dragapult and Tornadus-T. Both it and Body Press notably OHKO Weavile. Knock Off allows Ferrothorn to remove the omnipresent Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Zapdos and Tornadus-T and Leftovers from Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Clefable. It can also punish Dragapult and Blacephalon for switching in. Alternatively, Thunder Wave can slow down Pokemon such as Dragapult and Tornadus-T on the switch, enabling Ferrothorn's teammates to take advantage of them. It can also be used against more defensive Pokemon like Clefable and Melmetal to allow Ferrothorn or its teammates to fish for a devastating full paralysis.

Iron Barbs allows Ferrothorn to punish physical attackers such as Weavile and Urshifu-R that make contact with it. Leftovers offers more recovery to Ferrothorn for prolonged games, while Rocky Helmet doubles up with Iron Barbs to make anything that makes contact with Ferrothorn regret it. An Impish nature maximizes Ferrothorn's Defense, but a Relaxed nature and 0 Speed IVs are correct if running Gyro Ball to maximize damage. The spread maximizes Ferrothorn's physical bulk, although it is very customizable if a particular benchmark is desired.

Team Options
========

Pokemon such as Tapu Lele, Weavile, and Urshifu-R that struggle to break grounded walls lacking Heavy-Duty Boots such as Heatran and Tapu Fini appreciate Ferrothorn for its ability to wear down their checks with Spikes. Tapu Lele and Urshifu-R also appreciate that Ferrothorn can use Thunder Wave to paralyze faster Pokemon like Tornadus-T and Dragapult to better enable them to wallbreak. Powerful wallbreakers like Nidoking and Tapu Lele work well with the entry hazards Ferrothorn sets, as they force switches, meaning Ferrothorn's Spikes chip down the opposing team, including their checks. Knock Off users such as Clefable and Weavile also support Ferrothorn well (passive voice) by removing Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Slowbro and Blissey. Toxapex and other Water-types like Gastrodon and Slowbro are fantastic teammates defensively, covering Ferrothorn's weaknesses to Fire- and Fighting-types such as Volcanion and Urshifu-R. Ground-types like Hippowdon, Garchomp, and Gastrodon cover Ferrothorn's main enemy in Heatran, while Ferrothorn effectively deals with one of their biggest concerns in Weavile.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Choice Band is occasionally seen to take advantage of Ferrothorn's high Attack stat with powerful Gyro Balls and Power Whips, especially on Trick Room teams. However, Ferrothorn's low Speed and lack of useful coverage mean it struggles to have a meaningful impact. Iron Defense can be used alongside Body Press to make Ferrothorn a late-game setup sweeper. However, this is very clunky, and even boosted Body Presses can be easily handled by Ghost-types and Pokemon like Clefable and Zapdos that resist them.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Every Fire-type in the metagame, such as Volcanion, Victini, Volcarona, Blacephalon, and Heatran, obliterates Ferrothorn, as does every Fire-type coverage move, like Dragapult and Clefable's Flamethrower and Zapdos's Heat Wave. Fire-types typically have to fear switching in, however, due to Knock Off and Thunder Wave. Knock Off can remove their Heavy-Duty Boots and make them take huge chip damage from Stealth Rock and other entry hazards, while Thunder Wave greatly hinders the Blacephalon's wallbreaking power and Volcarona's sweeping potential.

**Fighting-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Buzzwole, Blaziken, and Urshifu-R, while bothered by Iron Barbs and Rocky Helmet, easily break through Ferrothorn. Coverage moves like Superpower from Melmetal and Focus Blast from Tapu Lele are also significant issues for Ferrothorn.

**Spikes**: While other entry hazards fail to bother Ferrothorn whatsoever, Spikes, especially in multiple layers, reduce Ferrothorn's longevity to an embarrassingly high degree, allowing threats it would typically wall like Weavile to easily break through it.

**Chip Damage**: Ferrothorn's only recovery option being Leech Seed means it can be easily worn down over time by chip damage. For instance, repeated neutral attacks like Landorus-T's Earthquake and Weavile's Knock Off can wear Ferrothorn down to the point where it cannot perform its needed defensive duties.

**Corviknight and Zapdos**: Both Corviknight and Zapdos take very little damage from Ferrothorn, can easily use Defog to remove its Spikes, and deal damage back with Body Press and Heat Wave or Hurricane, respectively. Corviknight does have to beware of Body Press when using Roost, and neither particularly wants to take a Leech Seed or Knock Off.

**Magnezone**: Substitute Magnezone sets are able to set up a Substitute on Ferrothorn, boost their Defense with Iron Defense, and eventually break through with Body Press. In combination with Magnet Pull, this allows Magnezone to trap and remove Ferrothorn.

Ferrothorn is a valuable defensive piece for a range variety of teams, both offensively and defensively inclined. While it has issues with Leech Seed being it's (Please remember the apostrophes:psysad:. Also think that you can use the highlighted bit to segue into how it affects Ferrothorn in games, e.g. it can have longevity issues) main recovery move, it's still a fantastic check to physical attackers such as Weavile, Melmetal, and Tyranitar. It also has good enough special bulk (think its typing should be mentioned somewhere, either here or the physical attackers part) to be able to take hits from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Rotom-Wash. It also is a solid setter of Spikes, which is a fantastic means to support the rest of its team. (that's definitely underselling it a bit, the gen 9 Spikes boom hasn't happened yet so Ferrothorn is one of the few viable Spikes setters in the tier, try emphasising that + explain a bit on how Spikes is so good in SS OU).

Spikes is Ferrothorn's primary selling point and can support the rest of it's (:smogduck:) team. Stealth Rock can be ran if the team lacks another hazard setter (mention how this is suboptimal as Ferrothorn can pressure teams greatly by stacking multiple layers of Spikes). Leech Seed is Ferrothorn's only viable recovery move, and can provide valuable chip damage on Pokemon like Heatran that will come in on it for it's (:psycry:) teammates. The remaining slots are heavily team dependent and will largely be decided based on what Ferrothorn's team needs assistance with the most. Power Whip is often Ferrothorn's strongest attack, and particularly eliminates wWater-types like Tapu Fini and Rotom-Wash, while Body Press allows for it to hit steels Steel-types such as opposing Ferrothorn and Melmetal. Importantly, chunking Heatran as it comes in can be huge for many of its common teammates (Think hitting Kartana and Weavile is also important here, being able to beat Kartana choice locked into the wrong move is huge.). Gyro Ball is also an option, being it's (:psycry: :psycry:) best option versus Fairies Fairy-types like Tapu Lele while also dealing huge damage to speedy threats such as Dragapult and Tornadus-T. Knock Off allows it to remove the omnipresent Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Zapdos and Corviknight (surely you meant Tornadus-T here, I don't think I've ever seen HDB Corviknight outside of gen 9 NatDex), while also allowing it to remove Leftovers from Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Clefable. It also can punish Dragapult and Blacephalon for switching in. Alternatively, Thunder Wave can slow down Pokemon such as Dragapult and Tornadus-T on the switch, enabling Ferrothorn's teammates to take advantage of them (Thunder Wave from Ferrothorn is actually quite interesting, it hits a lot of slower Pokemon as well such as Clefable and Melmetal. Note that Ferrothorn uses the move to purely fish for full paralyses at times as well.).

Iron Barbs allows Ferrothorn to punish Pokemon such as Weavile and Urshifu-R that make contact with it. Leftovers offers more recovery to Ferrothorn for prolonged games, while Rocky Helmet doubles up on Iron Barbs's effect to make anything that makes contact with it regret it. An Impish nature maximizes Ferrothorn's defense, but a Relaxed nature and 0 speed IVs are correct desired (just think it's a weird usage of the word correct) if running Gyro Ball to maximize damage. The spread maximizes Ferrothorn's physically defensive bulk, although it is a very customizable spread if there is a particular benchmark is desired (you can probably give out some examples, not mandatory though).

Team Options

Pokemon such as Tapu Lele, Weavile, and Urshifu-R that struggle to break grounded walls that are grounded and lack Heavy-Duty Boots such as Tapu Fini and Heatran appreciate Ferrothorn for its ability to set wearing the latter down with Spikes. Tapu Lele and Urshifu-R also appreciate that Ferrothorn can Thunder Wave faster Pokemon (like...e.g. Dragapult, Tornadus-T, etc), to better enable allowing them to wallbreak outspeed and KO those Pokemon. Powerful wallbreakers that often force switches like Nidoking and Tapu Lele work well with the entry hazards Ferrothorn sets (explain why, e.g. Spikes/Stealth Rock wear down their switch-ins), as do Knock Off Pokemon such as Clefable and Weavile that remove Heavy-Duty Boots (to do what, e.g. so their switch-ins start getting worn down by the entry hazards that Ferrothorn sets). Toxapex (would like more examples, e.g. Slowbro, Tapu Fini, etc - so many bulky Water-types form great defensive cores with Ferrothorn) is a fantastic teammate defensively, covering Ferrothorn's weaknesses to Fire- and Fighting- types such as Urshifu-R and Volcanion. Garchomp (same thing, Pokemon like Landorus-T, Hippowdon, Gastrodon, etc can all cover Heatran for Ferrothorn while Ferrothorn checks threats like Weavile for them) covers Ferrothorn's main enemy in Heatran, while Ferrothorn effectively deals with Garchomp's main bane in Weavile.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

Choice Band is occasionally seen to abuse take advantage of (just a C&C policy thing, try avoiding words like abuse/cripple/etc as long as there are good alternatives - obviously use them if there's no viable substitute) Ferrothorn's high aAttack stat, especially on Trick Room teams. However, it's (:psycry: :psycry: :psycry:) speed and lack of useful coverage means it struggles to have meaningful impact (something like dent opposing teams sounds better imo). Iron Defense can be used alongside Body Press to create a set that provides a late game win-condition like Calm Mind Clefable. However, this is very clunky and even boosted Body Presses can be easily handled by Ghost-types and Fighting-resistant Pokemon like Clefable (perhaps Pokemon like Zapdos can be mentioned as well?).

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Every fire-type in the metagame from Blacephalon to Volcarona obliterates Ferrothorn, as does every coverage move like Dragapult and Clefable's Flamethrower and Zapdos's Heat Wave. (note how Ferrothorn can annoy them back with a combination of Knock Off, Leech Seed, and Thunder Wave)

**Fighting-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Buzzwole and Urshifu-R, while bothered by Iron Barbs and Rocky Helmet, easily break through Ferrothorn (no BKC?). Coverage like Superpower from Melmetal and Focus Blast from Tapu Lele also are also significant issues for Ferrothorn.

**Spikes**: While other entry hazards fail to bother Ferrothorn whatsoever, Spikes reduces Ferrothorn's longevity to an embarrassingly low degree, allowing threats like Weavile it would typically wall to easily break through it. (Think more professional language can be used here. Also think it's worth mentioning that it's multiple layers of Spikes that really annoys Ferrothorn, it can still hang around if one layer is up.)

(I think Ferrothorn's lack of longevity/susceptibility to passive damage hurts it a lot in games, it should definitely be brought up here. This might not be worth mentioning, but strong neutral attacks do annoy Ferrothorn quite a bit - think of all the times a Landorus-T clicked Earthquake against a Ferrothorn 2-3 times to chip it into range of something else.)

Spikes is Ferrothorn's primary selling point and can support the rest of its team. Stealth Rock can be ran if the team lacks another hazard setter, but Spikes is extremely powerful. Multiple layers of Spikes can feel extremely oppressive if not removed and quickly wear down walls like other Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Heatran. Leech Seed is Ferrothorn's only viable recovery move, and can provide valuable chip damage on Pokemon like Heatran that will come in on it for it's teammates. The remaining slots are heavily team dependent and will largely be decided based on what Ferrothorn's team needs assistance with the most. Pokemon such as Tapu Lele, Weavile, and Urshifu-R that struggle to break grounded walls and lacking (and implies that Lele/Weavile/Urshifu are the ones lacking boots, although that isn't untrue LOL) Heavy-Duty Boots such as Tapu Fini and Heatran appreciate Ferrothorn for its ability to wear down their checks with Spikes. Knock Off Pokemon such as Clefable and Weavile that remove Heavy-Duty Boots to allow said chip to accumulate on Pokemon it normally wouldn't (think this is unnecessary as such Pokemon wear boots to avoid hazard damage, it should be intuitive enough even for beginners to understand that boots gone = mon takes hazard damage) such as Slowbro and Blissey also work well in supporting Ferrothorn. Toxapex and other Water-types like Gastrodon and Slowbro are fantastic teammates defensively, covering Ferrothorn's weaknesses to Fire and Fighting types such as Urshifu-R and Volcanion. Knock Off allows it to remove the omnipresent Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Zapdos and Tornadus-Therian, while also allowing it to remove Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Clefable's leftovers. It also can punish Dragapult and Blacephalon for switching in. Alternatively, Thunder Wave can slow down Pokemon such as Dragapult and Tornadus-T on the switch, enabling Ferrothorn's teammates to take advantage of them. It can also be used on more defensive pPokemon like Clefable and Melmetal to allow the user to fish for a devastating full paralysis.

Iron Barbs allows Ferrothorn to punish Pokemon (think physical attackers is better here, but either is fine) such as Weavile and Urshifu-R that make contact with it. Leftovers offers more recovery to Ferrothorn for prolonged games, while Rocky Helmet doubles up on Iron Barbs's effect to make anything that makes contact with it regret it. Impish nature maximizes Ferrothorn's defense, but a Relaxed nature and 0 speed IVs are correct if running Gyro Ball to maximize damage. The spread maximizes Ferrothorn's physically defensive bulk, although it is a very customizable spread if there is a particular benchmark is desired.

Tapu Lele and Urshifu-R also appreciate that Ferrothorn can Thunder Wave faster Pokemon like Tornadus-Therian and Dragapult to better enable them to wallbreak. Powerful wallbreakers that often force switches like Nidoking and Tapu Lele work well with the entry hazards Ferrothorn sets as they force switches meaning Ferrothorn's Spikes chip down the opposing team including their checks. Ground types like Hippowdon, Garchomp, and Gastrodon cover Ferrothorn's main enemy in Heatran, while Ferrothorn effectively deals with one of their biggest concerns in Weavile.

Choice Band is occasionally seen to take advantage of Ferrothorn's high Attack stat, especially on Trick Room teams. However, its low speed and lack of useful coverage means it struggles to have meaningful impact. Iron Defense can be used alongside Body Press to create a set that provides a late game win-condition like Calm Mind Clefable. However, this is very clunky and even boosted Body Presses can be easily handled by Ghost-types and Pokemon like Clefable and Zapdos that resist them.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Every fire-type in the metagame from Blacephalon to Volcarona obliterates Ferrothorn, as does every coverage move like Dragapult and Clefable's Flamethrower and Zapdos's Heat Wave. They typically have to fear switching in, however, due to Knock Off and Thunder Wave.

**Fighting-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Buzzwole, Blaziken, and Urshifu-R, while bothered by Iron Barbs and Rocky Helmet, easily break through Ferrothorn. Coverage like Superpower from Melmetal and Focus Blast from Tapu Lele are also significant issues for Ferrothorn.

**Spikes**: While other entry hazards fail to bother Ferrothorn whatsoever, Spikes (especially in multiple layers) reduce Ferrothorn's longevity to an embarrassingly low degree, allowing threats like Weavile it would typically wall to easily break through it.

**Chip Damage** Ferrothorn's only recovery option being Leech Seed means it can be easily worn down over time by chip damage. For instance, repeated neutral attacks like Landorus-T's Earthquake or Weavile's Knock Off can wear Ferrothorn down to the point where it cannot perform its needed defensive duties.

Ferrothorn is a valuable defensive piece for a variety of teams, both offensively and defensively inclined. While it has issues with Leech Seed being its main recovery move and thus having issues with longevity, it's still a fantastic check to physical attackers such as Weavile, Melmetal, and Tyranitar. It also has good enough special bulk to be able to take hits from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Rotom-Wash. Koko and Washtom aren't that strong but tbf there's not many special attackers ferro doesn't super wall or have a coverage move to slam it, I'd say specs lele could go over rotom at least though (you take at least two of anything besides focus), or scarf lele because while its less impressive its more consistent as focus doesn't ohko. Neither is mandatory but I think lele non focus attacks are at least a better example of what it can do even uninvested. Its fantastic typing with many valuable resistances helps it in checking both physical and special attackers mention the specific unique properties of grass/steel, can also be merged with the part about weav/melm/tar and koko/washtom. One of its most valuable attributes, however, is that it is also is a solid setter of Spikes, which is a fantastic means to support the rest of its team.

**Corviknight/Zapdos** Both Corviknight and Zapdos take very little damage from Ferrothorn and can easily defog away its Spikes and deal damage back with Body Press and Heat Wave or Hurricane respectively. Corviknight does have to beware of Body Press when it is Roosting and neither particularly wants to take a Leech Seed or Knock Off.

**Magnezone** Substitute sets of Magnezone are able to Substitute on Ferrothorn, boost their defense with Iron Defense, and eventually break through with Body Press. In combination with Magnet Pull, this allows Magnezone to trap and remove Ferrothorn.

Toxapex and other Water-types like Gastrodon and Slowbro are fantastic teammates defensively, covering Ferrothorn's weaknesses to Fire- and Fighting-types (AH on both) such as Volcanion and Urshifu-R. Ground-types (AH) like Hippowdon, Garchomp, and Gastrodon cover Ferrothorn's main enemy in Heatran, while Ferrothorn effectively deals with one of their biggest concerns in Weavile.

Choice Band is occasionally seen to take advantage of Ferrothorn's high Attack stat with powerful Gyro Balls and Power Whips, especially on Trick Room teams. However, its low speed and lack of useful coverage means it struggles to have a meaningful impact. Iron Defense can be used alongside Body Press to create a set that provides a late-game (AH) win condition (RH) like Calm Mind Clefable does. However, this is very clunky, (AC) and even boosted Body Presses can be easily handled by Ghost-types and Pokemon like Clefable and Zapdos that resist them.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Every Fire-type in the metagame, (AC) such as Volcanion, Victini, Volcarona, Blacephalon, and Heatran, (AC) obliterates Ferrothorn, as does every coverage move, (AC) like Dragapult and Clefable's Flamethrower and Zapdos's Heat Wave. They typically have to fear switching in, however, due to Knock Off and Thunder Wave. Knock Off can remove their Heavy-Duty Boots boots and make them take huge chip damage from Stealth Rock and other entry hazards, while Thunder Wave greatly hinders the wallbreaking power of Blacephalon and the sweeping potential of Volcarona.

**Spikes**: While other entry hazards fail to bother Ferrothorn whatsoever, Spikes, (AC) especially in multiple layers, (AC and remove parentheses) reduce Ferrothorn's longevity to an embarrassingly low degree, allowing threats it would typically wall like Weavile it would typically wall to easily break through it.

**Corviknight and (remove slash)Zapdos** Both Corviknight and Zapdos take very little damage from Ferrothorn and can easily defog away use Defog to remove its Spikes and deal damage back with Body Press and Heat Wave or Hurricane, (AC) respectively. Corviknight does have to beware of Body Press when it is Roosting using Roost, and neither particularly wants to take a Leech Seed or Knock Off.

**Magnezone** Substitute sets of Magnezone sets are able to set up a Substitute on Ferrothorn, boost their defense Defense with Iron Defense, and eventually break through with Body Press. In combination with Magnet Pull, this allows Magnezone to trap and remove Ferrothorn.

[OVERVIEW]
Ferrothorn is a valuable defensive piece for a variety of offensive and defensive teams, both offensively and defensively inclined (dangling modifier). While it has issues with Leech Seed being is its main recovery move, (AC) and thus having giving it (rephrased to avoid passive voice + redundancy) issues with longevity, it's still a fantastic check to physical attackers such as Weavile, Melmetal, and Tyranitar. It also has good enough special bulk to be able to take hits from Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele. Its fantastic typing with many valuable resistances helps it in checking check both physical and special attackers, with Grass/Steel being a fantastic combination due to Steel resisting many of Grass's weaknesses (redundant + dex info). One of its most valuable attributes, however, is that it is also is a solid setter of Spikes setter (passive voice), which is a fantastic means to support the rest of its team.

Set Description
=========

Ferrothorn is one of the few Pokemon who learn that learns Spikes in the SS OU metagame (RC) and can support its team immensely with them. Stealth Rock can be ran run if the team lacks another entry hazard setter, but the opportunity cost of not having Spikes is very high. Multiple layers of Spikes can quickly wear down walls like Tapu Fini, Melmetal, and Heatran. Leech Seed is Ferrothorn's only viable recovery move (RC) and can provide valuable chip damage on Pokemon switch-ins like Heatran that will come in on it for its (remove apostrophe) teammates, (Comma > period) It can even force switches to stop the its HP drain, (AC) and can heal its teammates allies as they come in. The remaining moveslots are heavily team-dependent (AH) and will largely be decided based on what Ferrothorn's team needs assistance with the most (redundant). Power Whip is often Ferrothorn's strongest attack (RC) and particularly eliminates Water-types like Tapu Fini and Rotom-Wash, while Body Press allows it to hit Steel-types such as opposing Ferrothorn, Heatran, Melmetal, and Kartana. Importantly, Body Press chunksing Heatran as it comes in, (AC) which can be huge for many of its Ferrothorn's common teammates. Gyro Ball is also an option, being (redundant) its best option versus Fairy-types like Tapu Lele and while also dealing huge damage to speedy threats such as Dragapult and Tornadus-T. Both it and Body Press notably OHKO Weavile. Knock Off allows it Ferrothorn to remove the omnipresent Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Zapdos and Tornadus-T (RC) while also allowing it to remove and Leftovers from (redundant + parallelism) Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Clefable's Leftovers. It also can also punish Dragapult and Blacephalon for switching in. Alternatively, Thunder Wave can slow down Pokemon such as Dragapult and Tornadus-T on the switch, enabling Ferrothorn's teammates to take advantage of them. It can also be used on against more defensive Pokemon like Clefable and Melmetal to allow the user Ferrothorn or its teammates (assuming you don't just mean ferro from the non-specificity, but its teammates also don't use it) to fish for a devastating full paralysis.

Iron Barbs allows Ferrothorn to punish physical attackers such as Weavile and Urshifu-R that make contact with it. Leftovers offers more recovery to Ferrothorn for prolonged games, while Rocky Helmet doubles up on with Iron Barbs's effect to make anything that makes contact with it Ferrothorn regret it. An Impish nature maximizes Ferrothorn's defense Defense, but a Relaxed nature and 0 speed Speed IVs are correct if running Gyro Ball to maximize damage. The spread maximizes Ferrothorn's physically defensive bulk, although it is a very customizable spread if there is a particular benchmark is desired.

Team Options
========

Pokemon such as Tapu Lele, Weavile, and Urshifu-R that struggle to break grounded walls lacking Heavy-Duty Boots such as Heatran and Tapu Fini appreciate Ferrothorn for its ability to wear down their checks with Spikes. Tapu Lele and Urshifu-R also appreciate that Ferrothorn can use Thunder Wave to paralyze faster Pokemon like Tornadus-Therian and Dragapult to better enable them to wallbreak. Powerful wallbreakers that often force switches (this is already said in the same sentence) like Nidoking and Tapu Lele work well with the entry hazards Ferrothorn sets, (AC) as they force switches, (AC) meaning Ferrothorn's Spikes chip down the opposing team, (AC) including their checks. Knock Off Pokemon users such as Clefable and Weavile also work well in supporting support Ferrothorn well (passive voice) by removing Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Slowbro and Blissey.
